Hope this isn't too much of a basic question, but I can't seem to find the answer anywhere, so I'm relying on my workamping friends expertise:
I love to crochet or knit dishcloths with the Sugar N Cream 100% cotton yarn. However, there is a big problem when laundering the dishcloths after use, in that the colors fade and become discolored very quickly. Does anyone know how to preserve the colors when actually laundering the dishcloths? Chlorine bleach is a definite no-no. I've tried soaking in various laundry additives such as Oxy-clean. Help and thanks!

I know if you are dying clothes, once they're dyed you wash them in cold water to set the color. Also, SHOUT color catcher sheets are wonderful for keeping colors from bleeding into each other. You can actually wash red clothing in with regular clothing without turning everything pink. Hope this helps.

I also use the same yarn to crochet dishcloths. So far have never had a problem with the colors fading. I wash all laundry in cold water, could you have a bad batch of yarn? Wish I had more of an answer to help you.
