When I was a college student at Berea College (Berea, Kentucky), I was assigned to work as a waitress at Boone Tavern. Of course, Boone Tavern is "famous" for it's regional foods - especially Spoon Bread. One of our covert activities ( "our" would be myself and the other waitresses) was to sneak as much left over Spoon Bread - with butter of course 8-) - back to our dorm after the Tavern closed - for a midnight feast.
Well, today, we ventured down to Oklahoma City to see the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum. Yes, the exhibits were awesome but the Museum's restaurant was outstanding ! :D They had a buffet.
The chicken tortillia soup was the best we've ever had ......but then there was the Spoon Bread !!!! :P Oh, it was soooo delicious ! :P Real butter but with pineapple added. 8-) Melt in your mouth roast beef, loaded mashed potatoes; a delicious broccoli salad........

Have you ever tried the brisket at the Worlds Wurst BBQ in San Antonio, or the Italian Beef from Portillos in Chicago?

Or the house salad at Upstairs at the Greeks in Cheboygan, Mi?

Best Fish & Chips you ever had is at Fisherman's Korner in Garibaldi, OR. However, the RV parks in Garibaldi aren't anything to write home about.

Oh how I miss chicago style hotdogs!!!!!!! We have an article from the chicago trubine that tells you the food for all the 50 states. So when we go to a different state we try that food. When near Louisville Ky, try the Hot Brown it's the best and if you happen to be near Round Rock Tx go to the Lonestar bakery and try there round rock donut, they are the best you will ever have, they actually put Krispy Kreme out of business there.
Have fun in your travels and try different foods you would be surprised, and thats from a fussy eater. ;)

Well, I have eaten at many places. In Morgantown WV there are the hot dog spots that have the true West Virginia hot dog out of this world.

And then of course there is Lambert's Cafe in Missouri. The home of the tossed rolls.
The rolls are out of this world.

Lee, you and Leigh can run up to Foley, Alabama and eat at Lamberts. They have the throwed rolls there also, and not very far from Florida, just a short motorcycle ride up the road. They have Cafes in Ozark, and Sikeston Missouri and the one in Foley, Ala.

Now I am hungry.
Happy RVing.

For a great hotdog, yes, even with coleslaw, you have got to try the Varsity in Atlanta,Georgia,it is an Atlanta institution. There is one location downtown, not really accessable for an RV,but going north on I-85 north of town, there is also one at the Jimmy Carter exit.Exit right and go to the light and then right again, and plenty of parking in their lot right there on the right after you turn at the light. You can see it from the freeway.
For a great Porkchop, try Hog Wild in Chicago. It is on Pulaski just south of 146th or 147th by the tracks and a cute, clean little place with the absolute largest, thickest chop I have ever had and a great little desert and coffee table.Makes my mouth water just writing about this place and reasonably priced as well.

If you're ever traveling along I-10 on the Mississippi Gulf Coast, stop at Exit 57 and go to The Shed (just on the north side of the highway, right next to an RV park). They make the best barbecued ribs in the world!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The owner's name is Brad, and he's a fantastic young man; he and his sister Brooke are usually around, and they'll treat you right, I guarantee!

In the Tetons a couple of places to give your palate a try.

First Signal Mountain Lodge, you must try their "Nacoha Supreme", enough to feed four people.

In Jackson WY. Bubbas Bar B Que. Breakfast lunch or dinner all three are good.

And just down the street on the opposite side of the road is the "Gun N Barrel"
Pricey but worth every penny. Try the buffalo steaks and ribs.

Just be careful of my buffalo as you travel.

We enjoyed the food there as well.
We have found a lot of good places to eat throughout this great country.

One great steak we had in MT was right were we worked as they had a round-up there and at night we were invited to a steak fry, if you had a 20 oz. piece it was small.

Merry Christmas

One more location I forgot to mention.

Yo'all have been missing the best.
"Road Kill" being a southern boy it taste good. Don't turn your nose up on it.
You would be surprised how well that stuff taste! A lot of it you don't even have to tenderize, it just falls off of the bone. Sometimes you get a variety of different taste.

Yes I'm talking about the "Road Kill Cafe" located just south of Big Timber Montana in McLeod Montana.
It was made famous by Tom Brokaw as he just lives down the road and he has eaten there many times.

Good eating on and off the road (literally).

Just be careful of my buffalo as you travel.
