I arrived late Monday night in the pouring rain and pitch black to start my new position in Panama City Beach at the {removed] Resort. I woke up to sunshine and palm trees outside my window. What a change from the high desert landscape of WY and UT where I work/camped this summer. And the people here are so fantastic, not to mention the resort is absolutely Spectacular. I started work on Tuesday and am loving not only the idea of being 1/2 miles for a beautiful beach, but working with kind and caring people.

I love this life!

We just began our winter position outside of Nacogdoches, Tx. It not only is a CG but also a deer refuge. Part of the job is feeding the deer and it's so cool. This lifestyle is a gas.

Our current Location is Summer Lake, OR at the [a] Wildlife Area. This is the Oregon Outback; we are 100 miles from the nearest Wal-mart! I know most people don’t want to be that far from anywhere but we love it. We get to work 5 days a week 4 hours a day with weekend off. Everything we do is very appreciated by the manager. We have found a job that is very rewarding. It is a volunteer position and we are the first volunteers they have ever had. They even built us a storage shed for our extra stuff when we ask where we could store it. We have over 25,000 ducks in the marsh right now. We have deer, coyotes, elk, coons, mink, muskrats, bullfrogs (frog legs oh so good) Fishing at Ana Reservoir for stripers and trout. Lots of shore birds of every kind and color and lots of humming birds. This is the best birding in the state of Oregon. You have not lived until you make reservations at the Cowboy Dinner Tree Steak House. You get a choice of a whole brosted chicken or a 32 oz steak. It is served family style. You start off with a bowl of salad, ranch or honey mustard dressing and water, ice tea, or pink lemonade. Then comes the bowl of bean soup after that you get your chicken or steak with a baked potato and a dozen fresh home made rolls and butter. For desert you get Marion berry strawberry shortcake with heavy cream. All this and it is for a lot less then you would think. We will be leaving, waddling, out of here the first of Nov. Headed south for another job or back to our home base in Elephant Butte, NM.

We are in Gettysburg, PA.

It touches us deeply when we go to the Post Office, drive past the 1st days battle, look over the hills and imagine what our ancestors must have gone through to allow us to live in the USA where we can choose the lifestyle that suites us!

We are currently in Manistee, Michigan at Matson's campground on the Big Manistee River, it is a great place with lot's of scenic views all around. We can jump in our boat everyday and go up and down the river and see the eagles fly, the deer standing along the shore and they have been known to just walk around the campground. Oh, and the fishing is GREAT! The other day the hubby and I drove up to Arcadia at a lookout point of Lake Michigan on a sunny day and it was just breath taking. There's also Sleeping Bear Dunes just north of there. We have been full timers here at the CG for several years, but have decided to give our lot up since we have began the full time RV living this summer. It is going to be a sad day this weekend when we pull out. Hoping to meet more wonderful friends as the ones we've met here.

Blythe, Southern California desert. Warm and sunny. After Coffeyville, Kansas, delightful and much needed.

We thought Sedona AZ was just awesome, and actually thought it gave the Grand Canyon a run for it's money. . .but of course, GC still wins. . .

We also spent time at Lake Buchanan this past year. . .funny, I wrote about both of these places in my blog. . .the lake was so low when we were there that there were no boat docks or sheds in the water. . .hope it is better now. . .I posted pics on my blog if you are interested. . .I still have to say, I think Inks Lake is so much better, and that is where we will go, when we go back to the area of TX. . .enjoy!

We are in E.Texas not far from Garrison and Nacogdoches at a CG that also has Fallow Deer and Sika Deer. They are wonderful. None of us gets tired of watching them.
