I'm sitting here at my host site and I can see the entrance gate to the park. I'm not on duty today and this is a campground where the gate is locked 10:00pm-6:00am daily. No in/out during this time. A fisherman pulled up to the gate at 5:05am waiting for the gate to open and access to the launch ramp. I should go out and tell him all of the fish will be gone by the time we open, but I might get shot. I think I'll just have another cup and let the host on duty do his thing at 6:00am.

:) Forgot the name of the song but one line reads: "to hot to fish" Possibly he just wants to beat the Heat of the day, or is hungry for an Early Breakfast! LOL!

When he went by my site on the way to the ramp I saw it was a virtually brand new boat with a 250hp outboard. I guess he wants to get to the fish fast before they move somewhere else.

No early bird fishermen this morning. They are waiting for me to be back on duty starting tomorrow. It doesn't matter, I won't open up prior to 6:00am either.

I will be back on duty at 6:00am this morning. For the next 3 days I will be having fun camp hosting. Of course it is a bit slow during the middle of the week and this time of year - Too Darn Hot!

How about some of you that are traveling on I-20 in western Alabama take exit #40 and go east on State Hwy 14 for 9 miles and stop in for the night? Nice quiet COE campground on the Black Warrior river.

No early bird fishermen waiting at the gate this morning, but it is 17 minutes before we open so they still have a few to be first in line.

No reservations scheduled to arrive today, but we do have a dozen or so scheduled for tomorrow. We had a 45' MH arrive last evening for an overnight with us. On their way from Baton Rouge to Asheville, NC. We are only 9 miles off of I-20 at exit #40.

This campground is always a bit slow after July 4th and until the Labor Day or when the weather starts to cool off. We will be 1/4'ish full during the weekends and a bit less during the mid-week. This leaves plenty of room for RV'ers traveling on I20 in western Alabama to stop in for the night. We are 9 miles from exit #40.
