We have a 3 year plan to go to workamping and I would like to gain experience in registration reservation systems to help with my resume. I am considering a part time job at this time with a local motel. Are there certain motels that also offer workamper position? Is there a particular registration system that is used for campgrounds that I should ask about? Are there other areas in workkamping that might require a specialized office experience what and where might I get training for these? Thank you for your input all is appreciated.

I'm not sure about registration systems, who uses what. I know there are hotel/motels in Yellowstone that hire workampers. Again, which ones, not sure. In my opinion, you are getting ahead of yourself as to learning booking systems. Most places are willing to train you on their system and the ones I've seen are pretty easy to learn if you have basic computer skills. We have been fulltime for almost 12 years and have park hosted for part of the year every year. Most parks do not care what you did in your working life, just if you can do the job that they want you to do. I'm a retired paralegal and hubby is a retired grocery manager, no one has asked me to write a brief or asked hubby to stock a shelf. Your best asset to be a workamper is good customer service skills and a friendly attitude. Good luck and enjoy yourself
